Custom e-commerce engine helps JBS race off the line

Every now and again, a web design project comes along that really gets us excited - an interesting topic, a local company finding success with an innovative service, and an opportunity for our team to show off their skills by creating a unique and effective e-commerce website.

Add some fast cars into the mix and we have the perfect design brief.

Six months ago, JBS Auto Design came to us in search of a dynamic new website that would represent their position as the UK's leading VAG performance specialists. They also needed a more intuitive way to sell their catalogue of some 2,700 car parts, from over 60 suppliers, online.

Although based locally in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, the scope for selling their specialist product range was huge. Demand for their expertise comes not just from the UK, but from around the world. The new site therefore needed not only to accept various currencies, but to be readable in multiple languages.

An innovative, custom solution

Over the last six months, the Evoluted team has worked closely with JBS to create an online store that meets the demands of their rapidly expanding customer base.

We organised their catalogue in a way that makes sense to customers. Each product is associated with the make, model and exact engines that it works with. On selecting the make and model of their car, and the engine type, users will see only products that are relevant.

Using SagePay, we also created a custom e-commerce system that accepts multi-currency payments. Google Translate makes the site available in many languages.

Building a strong e-commerce partnership

After going live recently, the new site took just a few hours to register its first sale. From there it has gone from strength to strength.
