Due to the success of our previous work with the British Council, we were delighted to be asked to work on another digital project for them, the Erasmus facebook application.
Erasmus is the European Union's educational exchange programme which enables students in higher education and teachers to study or work abroad as part of their degree or staff development. Erasmus was introduced with the aim of increasing student mobility within Europe and there are currently 33 universities involved in the scheme.
When we met with the British Council they required a way to help raise awareness about the Erasmus programme and engage with students, so the team at Evoluted set to work on creating a clever custom built facebook application called My Map.
The My Map application features a custom design styled to appeal to students and a clear functionality so it’s easy to follow. When students visit the application they are greeted with an interactive map which prompts them to select the countries they’ve visited and also the ones they would like to visit in the future. Once they make a selection, students are then guided to the next step of the application where they are presented with helpful information about the countries. This information has been created by students who have lived and worked abroad so it’s a great resource for people as they get to read an insider’s guide and real life case studies.
As part of the process, Evoluted have also ensured that students can post their results to their own Facebook wall for their friends to see. This is a great way for the British Council to increase the exposure of the Erasmus programme and encourage more people to take part.
Since Evoluted launched the My Map facebook application it has received a massive 3.8 thousand likes and this number is continuing to grow, which goes to show what an effective method this application has been in promoting awareness of the Eramus Programme.
Jude Wood from the British Council said, ‘We wanted a way to engage with students and teachers to promote the programme and encourage people to get involved, and the team at Evoluted have delivered just that with the My Map application. Thanks to their creativity and social media knowledge, we’ve got an excellent application which is reaching exactly the right audience. We’re impressed with the amount of people who have utilised the application so far and enquired about the programme as a result.’
Ash Young, Managing Director at Evoluted said, ‘We have worked with the British Council for some time now and we were delighted to be asked to work on promoting the Erasmus Programme. Our skilled designers created a fun design concept which immediately engages with students and our social media experts designed a fun and interactive way of encouraging those with an interest in studying and working abroad to engage with the application. We’re impressed with the amount of people who have utilised the application so far and expect this number to keep growing’.
