Our client vGroup International needed to establish an online store for breakdown cover provider Green Flag which could be delivered quickly to start competing in a tough market.

They enlisted Evoluted's help to create a rapidly-built shop which united multiple product ranges but still provided first-class UX to meet Green Flag's mission of providing 24/7 support to motorists in need.

Here's how we provided top-gear Web Development and delivered a store which was nominated for B2C eCommerce Website of the Year at the UK eCommerce Awards!


The Strategy

The store needed to make it easy for motorists to quickly find the right product for their needs - a challenge given the multiple large product ranges involved.

We built it on Shopify+, implementing a product hierarchy which added coherent structure to the product ranges and allowed users to filter by colour and quality. We also chose Shopify+ for the extra checkout and user journey customisations it allows which would future-proof the store as product ranges and sales grew.

To make the store easy to manage, we used Linnworks integrations to automatically pull through new products rather than needing to be manually added.

We created an effortless checkout experience with just four clicks required from home page to order completion and Google Pay and Apple Pay options which would boost conversion rates.

vGroup International was selected by Green Flag, the award-winning breakdown service, to lead and run its digital retail store. Knowing of Evoluted's market-leading work, it was the only choice for vGroup to work with on this exciting project.

Challenges and Wins

We faced a tight turnaround, with vGroup needing to launch the site ASAP to begin driving returns in a highly competitive market. Here our full-service set-up was key, with seamless collaboration between our build team's Project Manager, Developers and Creative Director to deliver the store within three months of the kick-off call with the client.

The store build also required balancing providing a great eCommerce user experience with managing multiple large product ranges and ensuring the site is set-up to adapt as the store grows.
