Second Sheffex of 2015 Generates Plenty of Buzz

8 December, 2015

There was networking aplenty yesterday at SheffEX - Sheffield's bi-annual trade show. Held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, the event featured a diverse array of operations from a wide variety of sectors. The day brought together lots of bright minds from the South Yorkshire business community; as well as those from further afield.

It was the fourth-edition of the expo, which has proven to be extremely popular since its initial creation in 2014. This latest edition of the event saw stands from over 80 businesses fill the space allocated at Ponds Forge, which had also been used for last Thursday's Sheffield Business Awards.

In a way, this was very appropriate, as the expo reinforced the buzz so evident at the Awards last week. With many Sheffield businesses currently enjoying a steady level of growth, there is plenty of positivity amongst the local business community and trade shows such as SheffEX will only continue to develop this further.

Throughout the day, our Digital Marketing Executives Neil Hale and Sean Potter manned the Evoluted stand; which featured a colourful, Sheffield-themed design on its facade. The pair relished the opportunity to connect with other exhibitors, the local business community and professionals travelling from further afield.

Both Neil and Sean were able to discuss a variety of digital marketing and web design queries with those seeking guidance. People were keen to hear their advice, especially as they were able to simultaneously enjoy the raspberry ripple, lemon drizzle, mint chocolate and malteser cupcakes that we'd had branded with our logo!

As part of our own presence at the event, we also ran a prize draw to win a free iPad. This proved to be popular with the attendees, who entered in the hope of being chosen as the lucky winner. Only one person could emerge victorious though; and it was Oliver Cann of Vulcan Engineering Limited who we drew out randomly at the end of the day.

Alongside the goings-on amongst the trade stands, there was also a newly-designed half-day 'Future of Sheffield Business Conference' taking place. The keynote speech for this was provided by Richard Caborn - Sheffield's Business and Industry Ambassador, who discussed the business prospects for the city in the year ahead.

All in all, the day was a great success and we look forward to furthering all the new business relationships we started there. Congratulations once more to our iPad winner Oliver and thanks to everyone else who entered.
