Design Inspiration #4

3 September, 2012

Welcome to the 4th installment of the Design Inspiration series, a regular selection of recent sites that have caught our eye for their aesthetic and technical brilliance.

Site 1:

This single page website from addidas is a promotional site and job board aimed at fashion designers. They have made good use of full screen video, iconic brand imagery as well as some nice parallax effects.

Site 2:

The Jack Daniels website fits in perfectly with their iconic branding. The main focus of the site is around a vertical scrolling timeline that shows the history of the brand. I also like the use of Typekitembedded fonts that give the site the same feel as the Jack Daniels product packaging.

Site 3:

Track 'em, Find 'em, Kill 'em is a promotional website for the recent movie The Expendables 2. The site is based on tumblr and features a slick sideways scroll. I really like the field note style to the site & I think the use of gritty animated gifs really helps with the overall feel.

Site 4: is a fun single page site promoting a vegetable juice drink. I really like the bright and bold graphics along with some smooth parallax effects. The rotating bottle as you scroll is particularly impressive.

Site 5:

This promotional site from Cadillac is split into 4 world wide locations (Patagonia, Morocco, Monaco & China), with each location covering a different aspect of product testing. The beauty of this site is in it's content, each section uses some amazing photography and video, coupled with smooth transitions and scrolling.
